What's wrong with the NAB?

Here's an example of the lengths taken to "modernize" the language of the bible, without regard for clarity, or accuracy. From last Sunday's Old Testament reading:

Some time after these events, God put Abraham to the test. He called to him, "Abraham!" "Ready!" he replied.

Comments:
That's sad. I took a look at a bible in a Kmart once. As a tester I went to the Annunciation. "The angel named Gabriel went to Mary and said to her, 'Congratulations, Mary, you are going to have a baby boy.'" Bible went back on the shelf, discreetly buried so no unsuspecting Christian would come along and snatch it up.

Good job Stella!

That's why I'm now considering the RSV or DR.

Considering the RSV or DR? There's no consideration, only a full acceptance as quickly as possible! The NAB is Not A Bible; it's riddled with heresy in its commentaries and introductions as well as in the translation. Get away as fast as you can!

I think the RSV-CE is a good bible to have for study, and especially for talking to our separated brethren, as the wording is similar to the KJV upon which it is largely based. The DR is must have, as you will find problems in the RSV and every other version that require the clarification of the DR.

You have an outstanding good and well structured site. I enjoyed browsing through it Videocam smart 300 Milf cruiser 07 Interior design resume sample
